Mobile madness?

Nokia's first ‘Touch and Type' handset called the Nokia X3 has hit stores in the UK.

The X3 combines a traditional 12 button keyboard and touch screen in a skinny 9.6mm case that is available in 5 colours and seems to bridge the gap between a standard handset and smartphone.

The handset packs in a dedicated music and messaging keys for fast access to the Ovi app store, a 5MP camera with 4X digital zoom plus a music player and FM radio. It also has 3G and WLAN as well as pushing emails from popular services to the phone.

It is available from Nokia's online shop, Phones 4U, Orange, The Carphone Warehouse and Three Mobile for around £159 PAYG or on a £15 per month contract.

"The Nokia X3 brings consumers the best of both worlds with an innovative new device that combines a touch screen and a keypad at an affordable price" said Sami Lehtinen, general manager at Nokia UK.
