Replay value enchanced by multiplayer

Inevitably, you'll also spend a lot of time in Red Dead Redemption on your horse, some of it involved in combat. If horse play had have been poorly implemented, Red Dead Redemption would have been a frustrating game to play, but thankfully it's practically perfect and the horses move naturally. During some of the missions where you're horse is so crucial to you, such as when you need to protect a train from would-be robbers, you'll really see how smoothly the horse riding mechanic is and how it plays its part in creating this authentic Wild West feel.

As if the deep single player experience wasn't enough, Red Dead Redemption comes packed with a heavy set of multiplayer options, including Free Roam mode where you can take to horseback with a posse and roam the game world causing havoc. Alternatively, there's team based and capture the flag style modes along with many other options to get stuck into. With 50 levels to rise through and unlockable character skins, mounts, and titles there's a lot of incentive to keep you battling away online.

You shouldn't need any encouragement to play Red Dead Redemptionat all; it's a brilliant game both offline and online. The Wild West was always going to make a great backdrop for video games, but as Call of Juarez and Gun has proven in the past it’s a hard genre to master, until now that is. What Rockstar has created with Red Dead Redemption is game that will thrill fans of the Wild West with its true-grit, attention to detail, stunning visuals and mass variety. Quite simply put: this is the best Wild West game ever.

Looks awesome; if only the disc drive on my ps3 wasn't broken… Anyone know if its gonna be sold on PSN?
You were fairly taken with it then? :p

Out of interest, did you ever get the feeling you were playing GTA? I had that problem for at least the first 10 hours of Fallout 3 - I just kept feeling as though I was playing Oblivion, and it damaged the immersion quite a lot.

Tbh honest, the more I play this the more I get the feeling this is more like Bully than GTA in play style and antics you get up to :)

Doubly honest? ;)

I don't know really… I don't mind it being reminiscent, it's just when it's so similar that you keep thinking you're playing the wrong game.

A bit like when I was playing Grit 2. Oh wait, no, Dirt 2. It's basically GRID with dust.

I love the Wild West so I've been waiting for a game that gets it right. It's only really like GTA in the amount and variety of quests. Doesn't feel like it at all really
