The Kingdom Hearts II Piggybank Game Guide Review
KINGDOM HEARTS II Guide- Piggybackinteractive.com
We’re no strangers to picking up a strategy or game guide for the adventure games that we love to play. The last one we picked up was Brady’ Games Final Fantasy IV guide which to be honest confused us more than helped us. Guides are notoriously difficult to navigate and many just don’t have the exact information we’re looking for; in the Final Fantasy guide we were forever flicking through pages trying to find out information that turned out was missing. We love Kingdom Hearts II so were keen to grab a copy of the official guide. We don’t normally review strategy guides but we’ve made an exception because the Piggyback guide for Kingdom Hearts II complimented the game better than most guides and provided us with everything that were looking for in a clear, concise and fun way.
The guide consists of approximately 250 pages of game information and its jam packed full of in-game pictures, enemy statistics, maps and level tables. For those who want to complete every aspect of the game the guide points you accurately in that direction, but for those who are new to the Kingdom Hearts experience it also gives you background the previous game, full details of the characters, tips on combat and completing objectives, and a 100% full game walkthrough.
The guide helps you to make the most of the combat system by providing a detailed guide of how to use the in-game menus, statistics on all the weapons and spells, and offers suggestions and techniques to beat those nasty end-of-level bosses. We were mainly using the guide to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the next boss and to see whether we had the power to beat him or whether we needed to level up before we took him on, but we also used it to check whether we’d missed an item on a level that we needed to backtrack and fetch; there’s a detailed list of every item, its use, and location across all of the worlds.
If you’re not too keen in getting swamped down by statistics the guide is also a very good read and talks you through the story should you have missed any key points or just want to re-live the moment. There are dozens of comprehensive 3D maps, detailed extras on the mini-games, secret bosses and a full run-down of every Gummi ship component and blueprint.
We’ve been through the guide with a fine-tooth comb, have used it in conjunction with the game effectively and highly recommend it as a colourful and practical guide to the game.
