Mercenary antics on the West Coast of Africa

What's it about?
Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is a squad-based tactical shooter that puts you in control of hiring and training a group of mercenaries who have been summoned by a mystery man to help dispose of rebels that have taken over the cash-swamped Diamond Shore region of Africa.

The Diamond Shore region is split into 20 battlegrounds, including mountainous regions, beaches and cities, and it’s up to you to gain control of the rebel’s territory by disposing of their forces. As the commander of the mercs, you’re give a huge wad of cash to assemble a team. You can choose from 30 soldiers that have a range of different attributes, including wisdom and strength. You can hire and manage up to 18 mercenaries on the ground, allocating them specialist skills and ensuring that each of them is equipped with the right weaponry and enough ammo to get the job done.

You command troops in real-time strategy mode via the Global map where you click on units and move them around the battlefields to loot buildings and search for rebel groups. In this mode, you can use any of the money that you've earned or looted to carry out a number of actions, including buying supplies, hiring and firing mercenaries, healing team-mates and repairing your weapons. Once you make contact with a rebel group, classic turn-based gameplay kicks in and action points come into play. Each mercenary has a set number of action points that diminishes or grows based on your actions. Using these points you can purchase tactical actions that can be used in combat to turn the battle in your favour, such as shoot, re-load, dive for cover, and change weapon.

In Hired Guns Jagged Edge it's important that you choose a group of mercenaries that have a good balance of strengths and then manage them tactically to ensure that you choose the right positions on the battlefield and use your action points and cash wisely.
