Where can I buy an AMLC DL?

In some respects, Football Manager 2008 is rather like landing the job itself, albeit without the physical demands, the cold weather and the barrage of four-lettered abuse from the stands. And, underneath its myriad of menus there’s a huge database and stat-crunching engine which analyses every decision you make in a thousand different ways, translating it onto the pitch, training ground and boardroom.

There was a time when the Football Manager Series received nothing more than a yearly update of team stats, but in the last couple of years the team at Sport’s Interactive have listened to the ever-growing Football Manager community and in this latest iteration there are a number of new features and tweaks to further enhance this absorbing managerial experience.

Of course, there’s still the obligatory update to the squads and players, with a mammoth 5,000 playable teams on offer, spanning across 50 countries, but the new changes this year are far more noticeable (I’m finding more and more new additions on a daily basis). And, despite it meaning that you’ll have even more choices and decisions to make, they do add further to the experience.

When I first played a Football Manager game I was overwhelmed with the amount of options. From scouting, training, sorting out contracts, club finances and team tactics, there’s so much to do that a novice may find the experience rather daunting. Practically the only thing you can’t decide is when players go the loo (maybe next year), but anyone who has ever played Football Manager for any noticeable period will tell you that once you’ve got yourself organised and understand how to navigate the menus, it becomes an extremely addictive and exciting challenge; and one that you’ll go to bed thinking about and waking up aching to play.
