Software

The software that comes with the mouse is easy to navigate and easy on the eye, styled in the black and blue ROCCAT colouring with sliders to control each of the tweaks that you want to make. You can store up to five profiles and have access to a multitude of options from the panel, including the ability to control dpi (400 to 1600,) adjust sensitivity, scroll wheel and pointer speeds and assign your EASYSHIFT [+] settings.

The EASYSHIFT feature basically replaces the need to put more buttons on the mouse, hence its clean design. You assign the EASYSHIFT button within the software, choosing whether to have it on the left or right hand side of the mouse, and you can then combine it with other keys to double the amount of mouse functions. ROCCAT compares it to using the "Shift" Key on a keyboard. So, in addition to using further button combinations for gaming, you can also use it on a daily basis, perhaps a set combination to turn the volume up or down on your PC. There are a number of preconfigured macros set for applications such as Skype and Photoshop, plus 20 popular video games.

The software has been faultless while I've been using it and the changes have taken effect on the mouse, as you'd expect, immediately. It's very simple to use if you've dabbled with this type of software before, but even if you're new to configuring your mouse you can immediately access help from within the software and the user manual provides a good step-by-step understanding of how to proceed.
