How does the mouse perform?

The Mouse
This mouse is very much just a mouse; it has a scroll wheel and left/right click. For gamers who are looking for a core gaming mouse without any bells and whistles, this is it.

I get the impression that this mouse is designed for someone who does office work through the day, but then plays games on a night, all on the same computer. This is by far the most comfortable mouse I’ve used. The contoured design of the buttons and the nice arched back all provide good wrist support and place your hand in a comfortable position.

On the bottom of the mouse there are 2 switches to adjust the settings of the mouse, one controls the DPI and the other controls the polling rate, there isn’t a great deal of choice on these switches though. I found that if these switches were flicked about too often you could actually kill the mouse; you would then have to restart your computer to get the mouse to work again. I don’t know if a firmware update in the future will fix this, or if it was a conflict with my PC, but it was annoying.

The gaming performance of the Abyssus was amazing. Accurate, sharp, fast, responsive, everything about the mouse was pleasing. I can’t fault its gaming performance at all. The 450 DPI setting was very handy in certain situations, such as sniping in an FPS; although, with the DPI selector being on the bottom of the mouse, you can’t quite change the DPI “on the fly” like the box claims.

This mouse in normal usage was amazing; it’s a no-frills mouse, suitable for your children to use while they play on CBBC or good enough for you to browse the internet. And with this being a very comfortable mouse, you can happily use it for hours without getting a sore wrist.
