Complete a storybook by using special stickers

The Lost Future is a great pick-up-and-play title, with a simple to use interface and uncomplicated menu screens giving you access to journals, past puzzles and a memo pad that comes in extremely handy, allowing you to now draw directly over the puzzle. Though it's the puzzles that provide the most entertainment, the mini-games are also fun to play. The Sticker game, for example, in which you collect stickers from characters in the game world and collate them to make a storyboard, is very addictive. And you're rewarded nicely for completeing mini-games with extra puzzles.

We love the last two Professor Layton games, but The Lost Future has swiftly become our favourite. Part of the reason why is down to the intirguing storyline, but largely it's the challenging puzzles and the satisfaction that you gain from solving them that provide the real hook. The mini-games are also fun, giving your brain a rest just when you might need it, and the Super Hints alleviate some of the stress that might have been incurred from the more challenging puzzles. Though the Professor Layton series hasn't really evolved leaps and bounds since its first outing, the puzzle solving format is still just as enjoyable. The Lost Future represents the franchise at its very peak and is the perfect time to explore what Professor Layton has to offer.

Worth buying a ds for?

That's a big question. Depends on whether you like puzzles or not.

There's a host of really good games on DS that are worth buying a DS for though, this is just one of them.
