A new website that challenges people to stay awake for 72 hours, while taking part in a specified activity, is kicking off their live 3 day streaming with a Halo 3 gamer who is either desperate for a bit of internet fame or really really wants to get his hands on the prize; a copy of Halo 3 and an Xbox 360.

The WouldYou72 website states that the contestant will play 'Halo 3 for 72 hours straight. That's three entire days of continuous play with no sleep, no naps, no mercy! Protecting earth from alien destruction, side by side with his fellow man, fighting for our right to live! If the contender manages to stay awake all 72 hours he will win a copy of Halo 3, a 360, and the respect of millions! An instant legend to all who worship Master Chief. All hail the bane of the covenant!'

The contestant hoping to complete the challenge will be Aleksandar Crnogorac who said that he views it as a test of my his will.He said, "If I win I get a free 360 and Halo, and if I lose I find out what my limits are."

The organisers are planning to do anything they can to stop him from winning the price. "I don't want to have to give it [360 and Halo 3] away if I don't have to." The site will allow people to vote on various Halo 3 challenges that he should undertake during the three day period.

We don't want to blow the whole idea of this challenge out of proportion, but didn't a gamer in China recently die from such a marathon session, and haven't people died or collapsed in he past from such intense gaming.

Will the crazy Aleksandar fall asleep? Quit? Or perhaps even die? Well, if you really want to see this guy suffer you can tune into the live streaming on 5th October.

some people worry me….

and, for 72 hours on minimum wage you could afford to buy a 360….. hell, you could probably do much better on a little above minimum wage and buy a PS3
Halo + 360 = £240ish
Average day at work = 8 hours.

72 / 8 = 9 working days.

I would be disappointed if didnt earn £240 in 3 days at work let alone “9”.
Lol
Strangely, I fancy tuning in around the 2 1/2 day mark to watch him hallucinate or collapse. I remember staying awake for almost 48 hours playing Football Manager on the Spectrum, it wasn't particularly pleasant.

What an idiot! I think it's more about the internet fame than the console.
He'll probably die like those crazy Koreans that play WoW/Starcraft.
