The breast game ever...
Mass Effect will face stiff competition when it's released in November, with other AAA titles such as Assassin's Creed vying to top the Christmas gaming charts. But, developer Bioware have sexed up the storyline in the hope that we'll push aside the rest and be tempted with a saucy sex scene, a flash of CGI breast and a lesbian romp.The storyline in Mass Effect changes depending on the choices you make, so "If playing as a male character the scene can take place between him and a human woman or a humanoid female alien. If playing as a female character the scene can take place between her and a male human or a female humanoid alien."
If they idea of alien sex excites you,you'll be disappointed to hear that the game has still only been rated 12 by the BBFC, due to "moderate violence and one sex scene", so we'd expect the scene to be very tame. Nevertheless, the inclusion of anything even slightly controversial in a videogame is likely to result in a few extra pre-orders here and there.
That got me thinking, what other videogames have explored sexuality? More recently, Rockstar - no strangers to controversy - featured a brief boy-on-boy snogging session (pictured above) in the schoolyard adventure game, Bully; and you may remember the controversy surrounding the Playstation game, Fear Effect 2, which featured the two female lead character's Hana and Rain, sleeping together (albeit in a cartoon kind of way), but Mass Effect has a far more attractive offer on the plate and will be the first game to feature a sex scene which utilises the processing power of the Xbox 360 offering a new realism to a sex scene due to the advanced graphics and a depth to the character models that we haven't seen before. Hey, it's still a rating 12 though, so no nipples unfortunately.
What next? the MMORPG, 'Lesbian Spank Inferno'! Forget Halo 3, we'd be willing to queue for two weeks to get our hands on that!
