New map pack arrive

Four new multiplayer maps for Gears of War will be available for download on the Xbox live marketplace tomorrow.

The map pack is called 'Hidden Fronts' and will cost 800 Microsoft points.

Bullet Marsh: In this Kryll-infested swamp, an old generator still powers the area lights. A few stray bullets could easily knock out the generator, leaving combatants to fend for themselves against the Kryll.

Garden: This overgrown and crumbling conservatory still has a working fertilization and pesticide system. This system can pose a serious hazard to anyone who ventures into the greenhouse without first venting the air.

Process: Teams must fight for control of this subterranean Imulsion processing plant, still active despite the cessation of the Pendulum wars.

Subway: Timgad's Central Subway station used to serve as a central hub for commuters. Now the tunnels are crawling with Locust.

If you don't want to buy the maps you can wait until September 3rd when they'll be available for free!

Going by Major Nelsons website the become free in September. Think I will wait till then as I don't play GoW that much.

I think I'll do the same, don't play it enough to warrant downloading them.
Great news! These maps have been ready for a while but microsoft has been holding them back.

It sucks that you have to pay for them initially though (which I will end up doing as GOW is my favorite game). I don't mind paying for extra content to get more mileage out of a game. But less people will have the maps and end up getting kicked on map rotations and you'll just get the players who take the game way too seriously playing on them rather than the casual gamers who will wait for September.

I'll give these a download tomorrow when they're up though and post my impressions.
800 points for 4 maps, not too bad so long as they're good, but I'll be waiting till september, I don't play enough online gears to bother with it.
I'm going to wait til September as well. Why pay when you can get them for free?
