Makro, the chain of self-service wholesale stores, are offering the Xbox 360 premium console, bundled with a wireless controller for the knock down price of £199! Want proof? Head over to The Inquirer where a reader has sent in a scan of the offer. We've been scouting around the net and can't find an offer that comes anywhere near to Makro's deal, which suggests that the the wholesaler has decided to cut their own profit margin rather than Microsoft agreeing to a nationwide price cut.
Indeed, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer commented on an Xbox 360 price drop on Frday when he said, "I think every console in the world has had a price decrease sometime in the first few years. I don't know whether we'll have a price decrease in the first few years, and I don't want to comment on that, but I will highlight for you that every console has had a price decrease in the first few years."
The price for Makro's premium console is in line with the current recommended retail price for the core version meaning consumers will make a saving of approximately £80. UK online retailers have been offering some great bundle deals for the Xbox 360, Play.com were recently offering a premium bundle with Gears of War at a price of £269.99 with Gears of War , while Amazon had an Xbox 360 PES 6 bundle on offer at £279.99, but Makro is now leading the way and hopefully others will follow suit.

UPDATE :: The £199.00 doesn't include V.A.T. Still a good deal, but not as good as we initially thought.
