Some new Halo 3 screenshots from the Alpha phase of Bungie's shooter have surfaced on the web.

Halo 3 will end the current story arc of the Halo trilogy and gamers who have won one of the numerous competitions on the UK community sites will have the opportunity to take part in the beta phase.

Players may also purchase specially marked versions of the video game Crackdown to download the Halo 3 beta.

If you're not entering the beta you'll just have to content with these type of images which will no doubt be surfacing in their bucketloads over the coming month. The images have been taken straight from the TV set so the image quality isn't perfect.
