Finally stream all the files you want through your Xbox 360.
No doubt you’ve read about Blaze and the Xploder GameLock, which will make them the most hated company in the world by anyone under 15... But here they are redeeming themselves with the older market by finally doing what bedroom hackers have been doing for a while now... making the Xbox 360 into a true media extender by easily and simply enabling streaming of pretty much any file from your PC to your Xbox 360.No more complicated hacks, installing odd bits of software from all over the net, sacrificing chickens and dancing around the living room naked by candlelight (doesn’t everyone do this?). Nope, just get your hands on a copy of Blaze’s Xploder Media Center and, provided you’re running Windows Media Center Edition, you can stream DivX, MPEG, Xvid and WMV formats, in real-time to your TV via the Xbox 360. Neat, huh?
And that’s not all because, depending on your system set-up and the source files, you’ll be able to do it in HD too. The fun carries on with music too where you’ll be able to import music CDs to MP3 via an ‘iTunes style’ interface, which includes an online database for Artist, Track and Album names. You can then scroll through your complete digital music collection via the TV, select your tracks and Xploder will stream the music to Xbox 360 for playback on your TV or AV system.
Those thoughtful Blaze chaps have even included a crossover cable adapter and a three meter network cable for all of you who haven’t taken the jump into the delights of Xbox 360’s media abilities.
Check back soon for more from Blaze and CES 2007.
