Gears of War won't be making an appearance in Germany after the Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK), Germany's official software rating organisation, rejected the title. Microsoft have accepted the decision and won't be creating a toned down version as they would have to 'remove a lot of the important features'.

Germany are notorious for banning games that are too violent, which have included Quake 1,2 and 3,Doom 1 and 2, Manhunt and more recently Capcom's Dead Rising.

The German's will surely have been caught up in the whole hype surrounding the game and gamers will be absolutely gutted about the decision. Those desperate enough to get their hands on the shooter will now have to look at importing or the likes of Ebay to pick up a copy.
