360 and mobiles

The BBC news website has confirmed that Microsoft are planning integration with mobile phones. This would link in with MSN messenger where you can already send instant messages to anyone with a mobile phone.

The new addition could come in extremely handy, especially if you have a clan member who is late for a match. You could invite them in-game to give them a sharp reminder. It remains a mystery as to whether the receiver would be charged for the message and when the service will be available, although he did point out "It is six months or so. It is very, very near."

The feature will be a welcome addition for most 360 fans but personally I'd hate to inundated with texts saying, 'Big Bob has invited you to play PGR3' ten times a day.

Let's hope they introduce a ban option

Talking about mobile phones, the Xbox360 was unable to sync with my mates SPV C550, which I thought was a bit poor considering it is a Windows Mobile-based phone, and has a well made ActiveSync abilities.
Not really sure why, once the novelty wears off, anyone would really bother. We have had free texting on the net for years, who actually botheres with it?

VoIP, now that would be something.
I think it might be annoying, everyone gets friends invites constantly from people that don't get the message that you are playing another game. Imagine having that coming through via text all the time. Ahhh!
I won't be signing up for this service. My phone will be going off all the time .
