Xbox 360 tips it over the PS3 in power?
According to an article on Total Video Games, Microsoft’s Bryan Lee reckons their Xbox 360 just sneaks it over the PS3 in the power stakes.
Lee, the Corporate Vice President & CFO Home & Entertainment, during a demonstration of the Xbox 360 at the UBS Global Media Conference said:
“With Sony if they do hit the specs which they've said they'll have there's a debate, there's a couple of categories where they outdo us, there's several categories where we outdo them. On balance I think most people who study the space will tell you our system is slightly more powerful then theirs from a hardware standpoint. But for the purposes of this discussion I think it's fair to say they're both Ferraris”
But of course he’d say that… To our mind, it’s not just about the power of a console, but of how well the developers use the hardware. Many developers have praised the Xbox 360 as being a far easier console to code for but have also cited the PS3 as being the more powerful… IF you can get it to do what you want it too. With the PS3 still to be released, it’s easy to make claims, but until we see some hardware, we’re withholding judgement.
