Microsoft has teamed up with the co-creator of World Of Warcraft for a new Xbox 360 exclusive zombie survival game that will eventually take part in a persistent online world.

Jeff Strain’s Undead Labs has named the project Class3 and describes it as a game that will "empower you to try out your real-world zombie survival plan." Set in an open-world, free-roaming environment, Strain is keen to avoid having Class3 labelled as an MMO, and instead describes it as an “online world game” that is streamlined specifically for console gaming.

Class3 will start off life as an offline game that will eventually evolve and grow into a huge online world. In addition to seeing off the threat of hundreds of zombies, resource management will feature as players seek to build shelters, and find food and ammo to survive.

We can’t wait to see how this one turns out. With so many zombie shooter games on the market at the moment, Class3 could be a breath of fresh air.

Consider my interest gained, 360 only though :(

I'd love something like this, cross between L4D & Minecraft?!
I agree Rob, it sounds like a great concept.

MS will really want this to work, so it could be brilliant.
Sounds like something more suited to the pc gaming market.
Zadock
Sounds like something more suited to the pc gaming market.

I'm sure they know that but this would be a big seller for the 360.
I'm not sure if the game mode is aimed at the console market though (ie dipping in & out of games vs extended sessions on the PC)
I couldn't take up my TV for hours every night but could do so more easily on the PC.

To reiterate, I love this game already! :)
