We thought Alan Wake was never going to happen. Since the announcement in 2005, it feels like we've been waiting forever to to get our hands on it. It shouldn't be long now and developer, Remedy Entertainment has finally given us a little something to keep us going until the game's release later this year.

It's not much, blink and you'll miss it, but it is the first chunk of gameplay that we've seen. Check it out here. It's looking great!

Here's the press release bumph...

Alan Wake is a psychological action thriller from Remedy, the renowned developers of the successful Max Payne series. In this Xbox 360 exclusive title, players assume the role of Alan Wake, a best-selling suspense author suffering from writer's block, who escapes to a small town only to experience the mysterious disappearance of his fiancée.

Set in the deceptively idyllic town of Bright Falls, Wash., Alan Wake features a cinematic world that enables players to explore the hyper-realistic and interactive environments.

Players will unravel the riveting plot through multilayered character interactions, unique problem-solving and intense combat against terrifying enemies. In this nightmarish world, where fantasy and reality collide, Alan Wake must use a variety of weapons to survive, including his most powerful ally against the darkness — light itself.

Is it still coming to PC?

Video certainly looks good.
yes.. just like Duke Nukem forever. :D
It's the first time I've seen this particular vid, but there's been plenty of gameplay footage shown last year, some vids on gametrailers website I think going quite a few minutes long. For example here: http://www.gametrailers.com/game/alan-wake/1608?show=Gameplay#Content
Yeah thats what I thought, I remember seeing loads on IGN at the last E3 or one of the other big shows. Still, this has the hud etc, which maybe shows that its getting ready to go! Personally, i think it will be great - remember when this was the DX10 poster boy :) Lighting looks superb… This year is shaping up with some great games to come.

From what they said at E3 it's 360/PS3 first and then the PC if there is a market for it from memory. This might of all changed in the last 6 months though. What did catch my attention was in the recent interview of the devs for it on the inside xbox on xbl they mentioned the game would be episodic on xbla. Fingers crossed this isn't the case as sod paying a shed load of ms points every time you want to progress.

I think Alan Wake is another game thats been hyped for far to long and the attention on this game is slowing vanishing for me. Max Payne 3 has my attention more than Alan Wake at present.
