The site has been in touch with some retailers, including ShopTo boss Igor Cipolletta, who have apparently confirmed that Microsoft has been in touch with them today to confirm the increases.
The Xbox 360 Arcade console is set to rise from £129.00 to £159.00 on September 1st and won't include the five arcade games that are currently packaged with the bundle. Ouch!
Apparently, it's not just the Xbox 360 that is affected either. A number of accessories for the Xbox 360 will also received a price increase, though it's expected that they will only be affected by a pound or two.
It's currently unknown whether other Xbox 360 SKUs will be affected.
The price increase by Microsoft follows the news that other publishers are also tackling the current economic problems by increasing the prices of their products. A few weeks ago, Activision slapped a recommended retail price (RRP) on Modern Warfare 2 of £54.99,while Nintendo confirmed that it will increase the price of the next Professor Layton game to £34.99, making it the highest priced DS game ever.
