Bungie has confirmed that a new multiplayer map for Halo 3 will be available to download via Xbox live on Monday.Better still, it will be completely free!

Bungie say that the new map, entitled Cold Storage, will be implemented into playlists that require the Legendary maps. It has also decided to drop the price of the Legendary map pack from 800 to 600 points. Ah, I see. It's free, but it's not if you didn't buy the pack.

Bungie has also said that:

Beginning on July 7, there will be a 48-hour long seven-player FFA playlist in Halo 3’s Matchmaking where you can turn the calendar back to 2001 and control Rockets, Invis and Snipe.

Dubbed as Halo Day, July 7 will also see the release of 7 Exclusive new gamerpictures that will be available to purchase for one day only.

Enough to knock Call of Duty 4 off the top of the Xbox live activity charts? I doubt it.
