Go, go, go… handheld!
For the first time, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six is set to make an appearance on the PSP, bringing its counter-terrorist gameplay and multiplayer modes to the handheld system.
In a story which parallels the next-gen console version of the game, Rainbow Six Vegas on the PSP will feature new content and all-new characters as Las Vegas finds itself in chaos and the Rainbow Six guys are forced to defend one of the most recognizable cities in the world.
Two new Rainbow Six operatives will enter the terrorist stricken world that is Las Vegas as their console based colleagues, Keller, Park and Walter, simultaneously work against the clock to save “Sin City.”
The new characters are Brian Armstrong, a field operative and assault expert, who is perfect for taking down tangos from the ground floor. He’s backed up by Shawn Rivers, who’s sniper rifle and long-range shooting skills picks off terrorists from above, one at a time.
In single-player mode, you’ll be able to play as both a field operative and sniper as you battle to protect the innocent from carnage. You’ll use tactical planning to maneuver through Vegas while high-tech equipment like snake cams will help you to strategically “tag” terrorists prior to entering a room.
When the action heats up and everyone ‘goes loud’ you can switch to third-person view while taking cover, giving you time to examine the situation before making your move. The controls have been specifically tailored for the PSP which will help you shoot your way out of gun battles.
Build up your stats to unlock exclusive Rainbow Six Vegas content, including concept art and the feverish Terrorist Hunt mode, where your objective is simple – kill the terrorists. Enter specific points of single-player maps and down the spawning terrorists one at a time. For multiplayer, you can take the fight to five of your closest friends via wireless (Ad Hoc) or online play (Infrastructure) in Survival and Team Survival multiplayer modes, while exploring six classic Rainbow Six maps…
