The tactical role playing series, Disgaea is set to make its next-gen debut on PS3. The third title, cunningly named Disgaea 3, will be released in Japan on 2008, with a North American and European release in the pipe-line. The first two games, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories for the PS2 received high review scores across the board, with Gamespot awarding the first game with the title of 'Strategy game of the year' in 2003.

The new title expected to follow the same vein as the previous ones with customisable armies, turn based strategy play, dozens of spells to lay waste to your enemies and a dynamic battle system in which you can switch your characters in and out of battle to match the strengths of your toughest opponents.

The first screenshots of Disgaea 3 don't look all that impressive, but fans of the series will tell you it's all about the gameplay.
