Sony fanboys can put their minds to rest, the guys from Playstation 3 magazine have received a working unit and those lucky staff members have been playing the likes of Motorstorm in their office this week.

We reckon you'll have to keep the curtains closed just in case any light reflects of the surface and blinds you just as you're speeding around a tight corner as it's looking...err...very shiny indeed.

At the Games Convention in Liepzig at the end of August Sony didn't show the final build, fuelling rumours that they were still a long way off completion, but these latest photos show that we had no need to worry.

The guys from PSM seem suitably impressed by the new console and will be revealing further revelations in the coming weeks, such as "the PS3 start up sound - it's like an orchestra tuning up."

That's all very nice boys, but what are the games like?

Sony have forecasted that 6 million Playstation 3 systems will be shipped by the end of March 2007.

Check out the joy they've been having at : PSM

Several thousand people also saw working PS3's at the recent TGS event :)

But yes, this is probably the first in Europe other than the development kits..

Apparently they only had it for a day before Sony took it back as it wasn't a final version, but they should be getting a final, final version within the next two weeks.. the swines :D
