Rolling out in Japan shortly, Sony Entertainment has confirmed that a new initiative called 'PSP Remaster' will see some of the top PSP games remastered in HD for PlayStation 3.

Starting with Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, a number of PSP games will not only get the HD treatment, but will receive PS3 controller support and exclusive content. Some of the biggest titles may also receive 3D support.

If the trial goes well in Japan, 'PSP Remaster' will also be rolled out across other territories. Further details and news of the release date are expected to be announced at E3 in June.
