Following on the heels of its launch in January, Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed that DC Universe Online (DCUO) is now available to North American customers as a digital download through the PlayStation Network.

DCUO is the first online game based on the DC universe to offer physics-based action combat in a massively multiplayer world on the PS3. Players can create their own hero or villain and join forces with other players online, as well as DC icons like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Joker and Lex Luthor in an epic battle to save, or conquer the universe.

DCUO quickly became the fastest selling game in SOE’s history since its launch in January 2011 and has already added a wealth of new missions, items and content as part of both its Catwoman themed update in February and upcoming Two-Face themed update.

DCUO will be available for download on the European store shortly.
