Following in the footsteps of Microsoft, who has recently joined forces with GAME to sell downloable content codes in store, Sony is also set to trial a similar scheme.

SCEE President Andrew House recently told MCV:

“We would like to work with the right retail partners in Europe under the right model, to undertake the same sort of activity.”

Currently, GAME sells a selection of Microsoft games and DLC, such as the Halo 3: Mythic Map Pack Collection, for the same price as it does on the Xbox Live Marketplace, so it looks likely Sony will follow a similar path.

As well as being able to redeem reward points against DLC purchases, the scheme will also allow younger gamers without credit and debit cards to pay with cash in store.

Yeah, I can go with that. Even if its just cards that carry so much monetary value where a code is inputted into PSN and you get the credit. Perfect for kids in all honesty. How many times have you heard about kids overspending on a card that belongs to a parent (Facebook & Live, 2 recent stories about kids overspending). If you could just buy the credit on a disposable card it makes things much better for parents.
No need for this, Sony. We can all buy DLC's from PSN.
If you are a kid, you should be asking parent's permission in the first place to BUY anything.
