Pornographic film producer Steven Hirsch, from Vivid Entertainment believes that downloadable porn has "real potential" on PlayStation 3.

Speaking to MCV, Hirsch refers to the launch of a Japanese service called DDM.TV that allows PS3 users in that territory to download HD porn directly to their console on a pay-per-view basis.

"[DDM’s launch] is a good start," said Hirsch. "We hope that Sony will allow adult movies to be downloaded worldwide."

He continues:

“As long as proper age verification is in place there is no reason why consumers should not be allowed to view adult movies on any device that they desire.

“It’s too early to say to what extent this could help our business, but it certainly has real potential.”

The only thing that surprises us about this idea is the fact that people are still willing to pay for porn.
