Speaking on the US Playstation blog, Sony's VP of Product Marketing, Scott Steinberg says that this is the beginning of an "ongoing software avalanche for PS3" that includes titles such as LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Resistance 2, all of which are exclusive Playstation 3 titles.
On the subject of Metal Gear Solid 4, which hit retail yesterday, Steinberg believes that the Konami title has set a new benchmark in gaming for its console.
"Thanks to PS3’s Blu-ray technology, this is the biggest Metal Gear Solid yet and sets a new benchmark in the gaming industry as the first PS3 game developed on a dual layer Blu-ray disc. This means the Konami team is able to deliver more cutting-edge graphics, more expansive gameplay and more surround sound. Add a DUALSHOCK 3 controller into the mix and you’ll find yourself right in the middle of the action," reads the post.
Steinberg believes that now is the ideal time for PS2 fans to upgrade to a PS3. Well, of course, he'd say that, but he has got a very good point. Currently you can pick up a Metal Gear Solid bundle for £329.99 and with that you'll secure yourself a copy of I am Legend on Blu-ray.
