Play as Darth Vader's apprentice
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I bought a Wii light-saber for Lego Star Wars: The Trilogy. Alas, it didn't work at all well with the game, in fact it was useless. However, I've held onto it in anticipation of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which has now been given a firm release date from Lucas Arts. Hoorah! The date that will bring all your Jedi fantasies to life is September 19th. Then you'll be able to step into the frock of Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" in a story that is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.
In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny.
With The Force Unleashed, LucasArts not only introduces a new chapter in the Star Wars saga, but also two completely new and innovative technologies -- Digital Molecular Matter by Pixelux Entertainment and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. These technologies combine with Havoc physics in what Lucas Arts say will "create true next-gen gameplay and the Force like it's never been seen or experienced before."
It's not just Wii fans who should be excited though, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will also be released on almost every platform, including Xbox 360, PS3 and hand-held. Our North American friends will get the game a few days earlier, on September 16th.
