Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Nintendo Wii? It's the tough choice facing many who're on the hunt for their next games console.

Fortunately, for those who don't need HD visuals, online multiplayer, Blu-ray functionality or flailing controllers, there's another option returning to the limelight; SEGA Mega Drive.

The classic 16-bit system, known as SEGA Genesis in North America, first arrived on European shores back in 1990 and went on to sell nearly 30 million units worldwide. Despite SEGA's console manufacturing days being long gone, the much-loved 90's console is returning to stores courtesy of Blaze.

The re-designed Blaze SEGA Mega Drive, pictured below, will feature 15 built-in games, two six-button controllers and a big ol' serving of nostalgia.

Knowing that you're itching to see if your childhood favourites are included, here's the complete list of Blaze's 15 built-in games: Alex Kid, Alien Storm, Altered Beast, Arrow Flash, Bonanza Bros., Columns, Crack Down, Decap Attack, E Swat, Fatal Labyrinth, Flicky, Gain Ground, Golden Axe, Shadow Dancer, Sonic And Knuckles.

There's no sign of Streets of Rage II - a personal favourite - but the unit is region free and will playback any old cartridges you have lying around.

So how much will this bundle of joy set you back? Exactly £37.99 if you pre-order from Play.com. We've fond memories of the console, but is £38 too much to ask for a 19-year-old console? Let us know what you think in the HEXUS.community forums.

Actually, that's not a bad deal. I'd be tempted if I didn't have an original anyway.

That I never use :)
Oh. My. God.

I want! I've got the original, and I still play it every now and then.

:rockon2:
Apparently the audio isn't true to the original console.
