Stitched up
The Nunchuck is used to assign tools such as syringes or antibiotic gel or a bandage and using two hands to perform these procedures gives the feeling of being in total control of the situation, allowing you to switch between tools as quick as surgeon would have to in a real life scenario. It’s essentially a point and click game where you’ll need to move the Wii-mote in a certain pattern to perform an incision or to create stitches, but using the forceps and defibrillator requires you to press both the A and B buttons adding to the realism of performing the operation.
The graphics are in an anime style so you won’t see any blood and gore, just pulsating hearts, numerous shades of red and various body parts that don’t particularly look like the real thing, but although the style is simplistic and the game is heavy in text dialogue, Trauma Center: Second opinion was an engaging, clever game that demonstrated how well the Wii-mote and Nunchuck work together, and from being a game that I had no intention of buying, it’s now a title that I’ll definitely be picking up.
