USRobotics Adds Two Skype Certified USB Phones
Maidenhead, UK (Aug. 15, 2006) – USRobotics, a Platinum Equity company, announced the shipment of two newly Skype Certified™ handsets today. The award-winning networking products provider now offers five products designed for use with the popular internet communications application.
“Adding to our ever growing line of Skype products has been a significant area of focus for USRobotics in 2006,” says Anurag Batta, Product Manager for VoIP. “These two new USB phones demonstrate our commitment to providing all users of Skype with easy to use, reliable phones. Coupled with our speakerphone and telephone adapter, we now have a selection of products for both home and business users of Skype.”
Both the USR809601 USB Internet Phone and the USR809602 USB Internet Mini Phone integrate seamlessly with Skype and plug into an available USB port to provide easy voice communications to the Skype community that now numbers more than 113 million users worldwide.
The phones feature technology enhancements designed to prevent echoes and resolve the “tunnel” sound internet calls can generate with lower quality hardware.
The integrated keypad on both phones allows users to place calls to Skype contacts with speed dial numbers assigned, or to dial telephones anywhere in the world with SkypeOut™. The phones make internet calling as simple and comfortable as traditional telephone calling, and offer distinct features for new and seasoned Skype users alike.

The USR809601 USB Internet Phone features a bright, high-resolution, blue back-lit LCD screen that provides convenient access to contact and call status, and supports Skype caller ID. The USR9601 is available at retailers and online for £29.99 inc VAT.
The USR809602 USB Internet Mini Phone serves as an alternative to inexpensive headsets and is priced with entry level users in mind. The USR809602 is available at retailers and online for £24.99 inc VAT.
The two newly Skype Certified USB Internet Phones join three other USRobotics Skype products, including the USR809600 USB Internet Phone, the Skype Certified USR968010 USB Internet Speakerphone and the USR809620 USB Telephone Adapter. Additional product line extensions can be expected in the third quarter of 2006.
Skype is not a replacement for your ordinary telephone and cannot be used for emergency calling.
