Orange has been showing off LG's touchscreen watchphone - the GD910 - for the past few months, but we haven't been able to discern exactly when it'll become available, and how much it'll cost... until now.

The mobile operator has confirmed that the GD910 will first go on sale in the UK at its Bond Street Station shop on Thursday August 27th at 9am. According to Orange, the "limited time only" device will be available only on Orange Pay as You Go, and it'll be priced at Ā£500.

There's no mention of stock levels, but Orange is warning that the device will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis, and that only one device will be sold to any one customer.

It's certainly a cool piece of gadgetry - and its features include a touchscreen interface, a built-in speaker, a Bluetooth headset and video-calling functionality - but will there be a great demand? We're not so sure, but if it does sell out, fear not as Orange will be making another "limited number" of GD910s available from its online shop in mid-September.

Finally, the day has come where I can walk around talking into my watch pretending I am Michael Knight

“KITT need your help buddy”

“Sure thing Michael”
Does it tell the time too?
Does it tell the time too?

Duh - it'd be called a wristphone if it didn't tell the time as well. :stupid: ;)
Not being funny, but does *anyone* ever use video calling? I've had a 3G video phone thingy for years, and I'm yet to even try the video calling functionality.

In my book, that makes this watchphone one giant fail.

edit: Just noticed that it comes with a the bluetooth headset, which makes more sense. Nevertheless, video or voice calling - you're still going to look like a twat.
voice is ok, because with a headset you just dial on your watch and chat away as you would normally.

I've used video before, RARELY and only to show prospective sofa's to my partner who was at home ;-)
