Ever been riding along on your bike and wanted to listen to the tunes on your iPod but were scared that you may not hear the 18-wheeler coming up behind you?

Well, be scared no longer, as MyCyfi comes to the rescue with a bike-mounted speaker system.

Your iPod and the speakers mount on the bars and cy.fi has, what it claims, a pioneering wireless audio technology, between the two, that uses ultra-low power consumption, thereby saving battery life whilst pumping out the music on those long rides.

The system weighs just 80g and provides up to six hours of continuous playback. It'll be showcased at this week's Interbike show in Las Vegas, and it will be interesting to hear just how good the diminutive speakers sound when pedalling furiously at 25mph.

No word on pricing, but availability is scheduled for Q1 2008.

Now if it had been charged up as you were riding… :)
Lose speed for charging's sake????

You're obviously not a roadie, then.
Nope - I'd damage my back moving the big speakers…
