Introducing the PDT Eye-Theatre: See things your way

Manchester UK. – PDT today announces the launch of Eye-Theatre, the personal multimedia viewer. The perfect complement to the iPod with video or the forthcoming Microsoft Zune*, the Eye-Theatre lets you watch movies on trains, planes and automobiles (so long as you’re not driving). Worn like glasses, the Eye-Theatre puts the viewer in an immersive audiovisual environment.
*Zune compatibility assumes Zune will have a video out capability

Previously the territory of the Jetsons or Star Trek, head-mounted displays are finally both a reality, and a practical, affordable solution. Using the iPod with video, or any other video source, the Eye-Theatre can be used to watch movies, music videos or TV shows wherever you are. The unit can display almost any video source in any format (NTSC/PAL/SECAM).

The Eye-Theatre is ideal for keeping the kids amused on long journeys, watching your own movies on planes. You could even catch up with TV shows on the train to work in the morning.

The Eye-Theatre weighs just 78g, and uses twin TFT LCD screens to display iPod video resolution (320 x 240) video. Also incorporated into the unit are high-quality stereo earphones. There is a choice of nose-pieces, so the unit will fit every face from children to adults. The display offers a similar effect of watching a 50” screen viewed at 2.5m. Because of the dual screen, your eyes focus at 2.5m, meaning there is no need to strain your eyes.

The power supply holds up to eight hours of juice, so your Eye-Theatre will easily run longer than your iPod video. A USB charger is supplied, so you can conveniently charge it from your computer. It weighs in at a mere 50g, and is extremely compact (38x98x11.5mm).

The Eye-Theatre is available now in limited number to pre-order at http://www.Eye-Theatre.com. The expected ship date is mid-October. Eye-Theatre costs just £149.99 including VAT.

Except the video will look terrible and you'll look like and idiot :P
lol. Anything to distract me from the weirdos and chavs on the North Tyneside Metro would be nice. Usually turning up the volume on Metallica does the trick though….
It would be nice if they can perform some kind of post-processing to make the thing look more 3D :D
