PRESS RELEASE

Brighton today becomes Hyperoptic’s thirteenth hyper-city. Hyperoptic is pioneering the gold standard of fibre broadband – its gigabit broadband speeds are 135 times faster than traditional ASDL services.

Hyperoptic’s services are already live across its other 12 hyper-cities: Greater London, Cardiff, Bristol, Reading, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Glasgow, Newcastle and Nottingham.

Hyperoptic is investing heavily in its infrastructure in Brighton and its services are already live in the iconic Sussex Heights development, which is the tallest residential building on the south coast of England. A number of other Brighton developments are undergoing installation and Hyperoptic anticipates that thousands of Brighton citizens will be surfing the Internet on a hyperfast Hyperoptic connection by the end of the year.

Hyperoptic is UK’s leading Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband provider. Unlike other broadband providers that only run fibre to the green box at the end of the street (Fibre-to-the-Cabinet), Hyperoptic installs fibre all the way into the building, which eliminates issues like peak-time slowdowns, buffering and frustrating timeouts.

It offers a range of residential packages, including competitive broadband and landline packages, broadband only services and contract free options. Hyperoptic also has a range market-leading business propositions, including leased lines, shared leased lines and business broadband products.

Philip Cooper, Director - South East, Hyperoptic, comments: “Brighton is renowned for being home to one of the most vibrant digital scenes in the UK. For digital communities to thrive it is imperative that they have the infrastructure that will help, rather than hinder, their development. Brighton has been on our radar as our next hyper-city for over a year - we have already been inundated with demand from developments, residents and businesses that want access to the fastest broadband in the UK so we are thrilled to announce that we are officially adding it our hyper-city club.”

The Board of Sussex Heights, adds: “Being the first property in Brighton to offer residents gigabit broadband is a huge coup for us. We live in a connected world - for today’s resident fast and reliable broadband provision is on par with utilities like gas, water and electricity.  With Hyperoptic we are giving our residents access to the best and fastest broadband the market has to offer - it’s a huge draw for movers that want an Internet connection that they can truly rely upon.”

About Hyperoptic

Hyperoptic is the UK’s leading Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) provider, pioneering the UK fibre gold standard: the country’s fastest, most consistent and reliable Internet service. Its fast, symmetrical gigabit services are over 135 times faster than traditional ASDL speeds. Services are delivered via Hyperoptic’s own dedicated fibre network, which means that customers can always connect to the Internet at the speeds advertised.

Hyperoptic works with property owners, developers and professionals, designing and installing dedicated fibre infrastructure to new buildings, and retrofitting improvements to existing developments. Its award-winning services are currently available to consumers and businesses across 12 cities and towns across the UK. It aims to have its hyper-fast service available to over half a million homes by 2018.

Founded in 2011, the company was recognised for ‘Best Consumer Fixed Broadband’ at the 2015 Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) awards and has held the ISPA ‘Best Superfast Broadband’ award for the last three years in a row.
