Press Release

Thatcham, UK: 27th April 2007 - Imago Group PLC, Europe’s largest distributor of video conferencing products, has today announced the launch of 3D TelePresence - a unique communication system that enables people to ‘meet in person’ over distance.

The technology behind 3DTelePresence is far ahead of current trends. It transmits a life-size 3D image of a person, creating the perception of both the person’s presence in the room and of eye contact, thus enabling the non-verbal cues which account for over 70% of human communication.

Among the uses of 3D TelePresence are:

•    Retail banking – to facilitate face to face meetings between customers and advisors.

•    Interviewing – to allow full interviews to be conducted over long distances.

•    Medical – for remote consultations between patient and doctor.

•    Virtual receptionist – enhancing the productivity and security of reception staff.

Ian Vickerage Managing Director of Imago Group PLC thinks 3D TelePresence is a revolutionary technology. “This kind of technology used to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars,” he said. “Now TelePresence technology is accessible to smaller businesses as well as professions for whom personal contact is important, such as retail and medicine. Imago is highly privileged to be able to bring such a unique technology to a wider market.”

3D TelePresence really is the closest thing to actually being there.
