Magicbox launches the Carnaby, a new, bold landline handset with retro styling
London, UK, 4th October 2011 - Magicbox, designer and manufacturer of stylish communication and audio products, today announces the launch of its new home landline telephone that is unquestionably British - The Carnaby. Taking design elements from the swinging 60s and 70s and adding a modern twist, the Carnaby is both stylish and ergonomic.
The Carnaby has been designed with three primary objectives in mind; Experience, Comfort and Style. The result is a smooth contoured, user-friendly and feature rich handset that adds a touch of retro style to any contemporary home.
To achieve a great user experience, the Carnaby boasts a range of features including the twenty-five name and number phonebook with caller display, a memory that can store up to forty calls in its history, an answerphone with seventeen minutes of recording time and the auto-answer option on handset pick-up, which is useful for when a user is running from another room to catch the call on the final ring.
Cordless handset users may have previous experience of mislaying their handset from base units when chatting around the home, the Carnaby eliminates the need to hunt from room to room by including a ‘find handset' option. Other features that help to offer a great user experience, include a clock and alarm clock, five real bell ringtones for internal and external calls, a mute button and keypad lock selection.
In addition to offering an ergonomic handset with smooth, rounded curves, comfort can also be found in the old-fashioned earbowl. The large rounded speaker can nestle snugly into the users ear providing freedom to talk with friends and family for hours in comfort.
Style is an objective that has been considered in every aspect in the design of the Carnaby. Available in pillar-box red, liquorice black and snowcone white, there is a colour to compliment any interior design. The silver rimmed, domed base provides a chic cradle for the handset, while the keypad blends synonymously into the handset itself.
