Barcelona, Spain (February 15, 2010) — Sonic Solutions® (NASDAQ: SNIC) and DivX, Inc. (NASDAQ: DIVX), a leading digital media company, today announced at Mobile World Congress an expanded partnership to enable the digital distribution of an extensive catalogue of premium titles on DivX Certified® mobile devices. Through the partnership, Sonic and DivX will make it easy to transfer and playback hit movies on mobile phones.*

Sonic has established a leadership position in the delivery and management of premium digital video content through its Roxio CinemaNow™ platform, which is powering digital entertainment delivery for leading retailers including Best Buy and Blockbuster. The DivX mobile program includes three of the world’s top tier mobile phone manufacturers such as LG and Samsung, complementing its broader ecosystem of more than 250 million consumer electronics devices from major OEMs that playback secure, premium content in the DivX format. Together, DivX and Roxio CinemaNow can provide mobile carriers, retailers and OEMs a full solution for the end-to-end distribution of premium entertainment. For consumers, the collaboration enables them to easily enjoy entertainment beyond the PC through virtually any kind of consumer electronics product — from mobile phones to Blu-ray devices, gaming consoles, digital televisions and in-car systems.

DivX Certified phones are all tested to guarantee high-quality DivX video playback. DivX technology produces highly compressed video that requires minimal storage for the highest quality media experience on a mobile platform. In fact, a standard definition movie can be compressed into just 1GB using DivX technology; a size that can easily be stored on a mobile phone for viewing anytime, anywhere. Users can also store up to 10 DVD quality movies on their phone with 8GB of internal memory or a removable card, and watch their collection anywhere they choose. With high-quality resolution DivX playback, consumers who own phones with a TV-Out feature can playback video content from their phone directly on the TV turning their device into a powerful portable media player.

For even higher quality playback with a home theater-like experience at any resolution, DivX Mobile Theater takes advantage of improved IC capabilities to ensure compatible phones support studio requirements for premium content playback in the DivX format, provide true DVD-like quality, and offer an improved user experience.

“DivX has built a robust mobile program that makes it simple for consumers to enjoy high-quality DivX movies on their phones without having to convert the file in order to watch it,” said Kevin Hell, CEO, DivX, Inc. “The combination of Roxio CinemaNow and DivX will bring instant access to an unparalleled library of premium content for easy movie viewing anytime, anywhere.”

“The Roxio CinemaNow platform enables retailers and consumer electronics companies to participate in the entertainment supply chain, add value to product offerings and form ongoing relationships with customers,” said Dave Habiger, President and CEO, Sonic Solutions. “Together with DivX, we look forward to broadening our mobile reach and enhancing the digital home entertainment experience for consumers.”
