Audio-Technica, the leading Japanese manufacturer of high-performance microphones, headphones, wireless systems, mixers and electronic products for the home and professionals, is using IFA, the world's largest Consumer Electronics Show, as the European launch-pad for its impressive new range of consumer headphones.Well-established in its home market of Japan, where it is the number one hi-fi headphone brand in this hugely competitive arena, Audio-Technica plans to establish its headphones in the hearts and minds of European consumers.
Audio-Technica offers both Open-Back and Closed-Back headphones for the audiophile enthusiast. All feature high-performance neodymium magnet transducers and Oxygen Free Copper conductors ensuring outstanding standards of sound quality.
The Open-Back range starts with the AD300 model with 40mm drivers in a honeycomb aluminium casing featuring soft velvet ear-pads. The larger AD500 model has powerful 53mm drivers yet weigh only 260 grams and reproduce sound up to an amazing 30kHz giving clean high-frequencies as well as the deep bass.
The AD700 model also features a honeycomb aluminium casing but with a magnesium frame structure. This model has CCAW voice coils and a higher quality hybrid PCOCC and titanium alloy cable; allowing these headphones to reproduce perfectly the full range of the musical spectrum. The AD900 models offer a higher than normal (700mW) power handling and can generate an undistorted crystal clear level of 100dB.
Finally the AD1000 model adds a unique 2-part headband with self-adjusting wings which exert no force on the top of the head. Combined with the soft ecsaine ear-pads the result is incredibly comfortable allowing hours of stunning musical enjoyment.
The base model for the Closed Back range is the A500 which has 53mm drivers with CCAW voice coils. The A700 builds on this high performance with the addition of the closed-back Double Air Damping System which ensures a really deep bass reproduction down to 5Hz.
The A900 offers an incredible 5Hz to 40Hz frequency response; making sure that everything on the original recording can be heard in perfect fidelity from the subtlest sounds to the loudest 101 dB crescendos. It can be said that the A900 headphones represent a perfect blend of comfort and sound quality.
