London, 3rd August 2007: Humax, one of the world's largest set-top box manufacturers, today announces that it is the first digital television recorder (DTR) manufacturer to pass the Freeview Playback* Group 2 standard; both the Humax PVR-9200TB and PVR-9200TS models meet the new standard which guarantees digital TV viewers the very latest recording features including:• Series link - allows viewers to programme their DTR to automatically record every episode of a series, at the touch of a button
• Split recording - enables viewers to record two-part programmes that may have a break in the middle for a news bulletin, such as films
• Alternate instance recording - a new feature that alerts the viewer if a clash occurs in their recording schedule and suggests an alternative time if the programme is repeated at a later date
Humax will also ensure that existing PVR-9200T owners will be able to enjoy the new Freeview Playback Group 2 features, through an automatic, over-the-air software download. Humax is currently one of the only manufacturers to offer this facility.
The PVR-9200T range also offers one of the largest hard drives available for one touch, free-to-air digital TV recording and an unparalleled range of features, including schedule tracking and auto-buffering for accurate recording - ensuring any changes in schedule caused by breaking news items or over-running sports events are not missed. In addition, Humax will be the only manufacturer to upgrade existing products via an over-the-air software download
