FORMAC ANNOUNCES THE WATCHANDGO DVB-T USB 2.0 BOX
A NEW USB 2.0 DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TV RECEIVER FOR APPLE COMPUTERS
Formac has announced the Watchandgo DVB-T USB Box, a Digital DVB-T receiver for USB 2.0 equipped Macs, enabling the user to watch and record an extensive variety of programs featuring digital quality pictures and sound.
The Watchandgo software provides a wealth of other features to compliment the hardware. Features include an electronic program guide (EPG), Time Shift (Pause live TV), Tele-Text, automatic channel searching, recording and editing functions for film clips, picture in picture functionality is supported, as well as a digital radio reception in Stereo quality with the possibility to store the digital audio data as MPEG files.

The integrated DVB-T tuner provides high quality reception. The Watchandgo USB 2.0 is bundled with an Active Antenna for DVB reception; this unique bundle ensures the optimal reception of all digital radio and television channels.
The hardware is capable of DMA (Direct memory access) and therefore doesn’t demand processor power, leaving your other applications to work seamlessly whilst the watchandgo DVB-T USB is in use. The unit is plug and play so after the initial software installation, you are able to scan for your channels and start your new digital TV experience.
Price and availability
The Formac Watchandgo DVB-T USB is available with an SRP of £99 inc. VAT. Initial delivery takes place starting from the week commencing 14th December 2005.

* Includes Samsung DVB T tuner with high quality reception.
* Remote Control - The computer can be woken with the remote control from the state of rest, whereby the TV application can be started automatically also functions such as Tele-Text, picture in picture, Time Shift, recording and channel select can be accessed from the control.
* Active Antenna - A high quality Kathrein Antenna provides excellent DVB reception.
* Automatic transmitter browsing - Automatically scans for the strongest transmitters during installation.
* Digital video recorder - The digital recording is stored without quality loss.
* Scheduled Recordings - These can be programmed several days in advance. The computer can automatically be woken from
sleep to start the recording at the designated time and date.
* Digital video editing - Extensive editing features, enabling the editing of recorded footage to edit out unwanted sections eg. advertisement breaks etc. as well as exporting the recording to QuickTime and mpeg formats.
* Export function - The video software supports the export to formats for other professional software applications such as
DVD studio Pro, iMovie & iDVD.
* Time-shift (pausing live TV) - The program being watched can be paused, and then resumed at the click of a button.
* Teletext - Several teletext windows can be opened at the same time. All previously viewed teletext pages are buffered and can be recalled instantly.
* EPG (Electronic program guide) - A live Electronic program guide downloaded to the software through the broadcasted signal, an internet connection is not required.
* Full Frame rate - The picture is updated 50 times in a second (PAL TV standard). Therefore showing all fast action
broadcasts clearly. e.g. with sport broadcasts.
* Picture in picture display function - A second channel from the same carrier band can be shown in the same window
* DVB T radio - Features the ability to receive and store the digital audio data as MPEG file.
* Signal indicator - Displays the strength and quality of the digital signal.
* Active over-voltage protection - Automatically protects your hardware against voltage surges.
