PRESS RELEASE

Eclipse have sold many of the £450 TD307PAII system and the TD508II-UD is a big brother, specially created for the UK market.

The design is optimised for purity, speed and clarity and gets rid of many of the parts of conventional speakers that negatively affect the sound.

In comparison with the 307PAII system, the TD508II has a larger scale presentation and better bass at lower volume levels, as well as a more dynamic solid sound stage.

The Detail

Nothing looks like an Eclipse and nothing sounds like an Eclipse, every element of the design is functional, a direct result of the  requirements of time-domain anti-resonant construction.

The speaker

- Highly engineered ultra-fast single driver design

- No crossover to smear the sound

- No DSP Processing to destroy phase and timing

- Cabinet effects effectively eliminated for superb clarity

- Zinc Alloy internal structure

- Alloy stand carries the energy earth path

- 360 degree mounting for desk, wall & ceiling use

The amplifier

TDA501II has a structure so simple and elegant it needs no tone controls or equalizers, which would disturb its outstanding phase characteristics.

- Amplifier performance designed specifically to match the speakers

- Anti-resonant cone design with heavy cast-alloy structure

- Fitted with phono inputs and large gold-plated speaker terminals

- all audio inputs and outputs are gold plated

- upgraded accessories pack with all audio features upgraded

Some of the world's greatest musicians, producers and recording engineers use Eclipse

Eclipse speakers are renowned for their accuracy and clarity. John Williams, Michael Nyman, Randy Brecker, Simon Osborne, Klaus Heimann and The Royal Academy of Music all use Eclipse, as do many recording studios.

Based on the £5000 Eclipse TD712zMK2 near-field monitor The TD508II shares the same design, quality and engineering as it's bigger brothers, delivering unparalleled accuracy for desktop use and smaller scale applications.

Key characteristics of Time Domain speakers

- Absolute Purity and Clarity of sound with no colouration

- Accurate transients to capture the leading edge of notes

- The most accurate reproduction of human voice

The egg is the most rigid form known to nature. The sound from most speakers is coloured and 'warmed' by the resonating panels of a wood or plastic box. The 508II is engineered to let you hear only the accurate signal from the drive unit, with the cabinet itself adding nothing.

A single full-range driver maximises time, phase and impulse characteristics and avoids the distortion associated with a crossover.

The driver is decoupled from the enclosure, mounted on a heavy internal stand to avoid transmission of energy to the cabinet. An anchor weight at the back of the driver further improves transient response and a rear exhaust port dissipates energy.

With no acoustic signature itself, the 508II is a truly transparent speaker that allows the listener to experience playback, free of phase distorted and time-delayed signals. The result is remarkable clarity and vivid spatial imaging, with a sense of scale and weight that eludes most small speakers.
