KISS TECHNOLOGY LAUNCH THE FIRST DVD PLAYER WITH ETHERNET AND DIVX SUPPORT KiSS Technology Makes The 'Digital Home Entertainment Hub' A Reality...

KiSS Technology, the leading provider of DVD products in Europe today announces the KiSS DP-500, the first DVD player to offer an Ethernet connection and DivX support. The DP-500 is the second in a series of new DVD players from KiSS that is based on a strategic relationship with Sigma Designs (Nasdaq: SIGM) using their EM8500 progressive DVD decoder chip.

The DP-500 DVD player allows the user to view their previously downloaded DivX, Xvid, MPEG 4, MP3 and Ogg Vorbis files directly through their television, using the Ethernet connection attached to their PC. This is the first time this type of technology has been available directly through the television, bringing the reality of PC-centric convergence to the consumer's home.

Following on from the successful launch of the award-winning DP-450, the DP-500 introduces a series of new features including playback of DivX versions 4 and 5, the ability to listen to Internet webradio, and PC connectivity for music files, pictures and video material direct from your PC.
