PRESS RELEASE

Roberts, the much-loved British audio brand, has an impressive track record when it comes to keeping in tune with the latest audio technologies to offer the best performing portable radios. The company celebrates its 85th anniversary this year and the brand’s success is due to never compromising on quality on both technology and design. An impressive heritage should be celebrated, so to mark the occasion, Roberts has issued some new versions of its most iconic radio, the 50’s inspired retro Revival.

First introduced in the 1950’s, the Revival is the best-selling portable radio today and has held this number one position for many years.  Roberts has now added two new Revival models to the family to ensure this iconic radio remains a firm favourite.

Portable perfection - Revival Uno, £159.99

Your favourite retro look, this radio is more compact than the standard Revival, (35% smaller) so perfect for smaller spaces.  Its size and the addition of an alarm means this will also add some stylish sounds to any bedroom to help you wake up in the morning.

Revival Uno offers FM/DAB/DAB+ to give you the full choice of digital radio stations currently available. It also runs on AA batteries and as it’s so compact, it’s perfect for taking out and about – to festivals, camping, picnics, or just enjoy the radio in the garden.

This super neat DAB portable radio is a treat for both the ears and the eyes, available in striking colours including Pink Cadillac, Purple Haze, Blue Monday, Yellow Submarine for a bright statement as well as more subtle tones such as Duck Egg, Dove Grey, Pastel Cream and Black.

Revival RD70 – streaming loud and clear £199.99

The best has just got better.  Keeping the classic 50’s styling we all love, this Revival has had some technology updates to provide new features and enhance performance.  This is the ideal kitchen radio and features FM/DAB/DAB+ and now it has Bluetooth connectivity this is now so much more than a radio, you can also stream your own play lists via other devices and use as a super, stylish portable speaker.  Also running on AA batteries, this radio is also useful for using outside.

The colour display has been redesigned to make it more intuitive, it’s now in full colour and provides greater information.  You can also customise the screen, for example set it so you can see the clock in your preferred format.

The Revival RD70 comes in classic red, leaf green, black, pastel cream, duck egg and black.  Like the Revival Uno this now also features an alarm function.

About Roberts:

In 2017 Roberts Radio Ltd. celebrates 85 years of business.  The company was founded by good friends Harry Roberts and Leslie Bidmead, who began making portable radios from a small shop in London in 1932.  Initially producing just three a week, they had a simple philosophy:  never compromise on quality and keep pushing the boundaries.

Roberts is now a subsidiary of the privately owned Glen Dimplex Group, and although much has changed in the world of audio technology since then, the company has followed these values ever since and has remained the UK market leader in portable radios.  From the iconic fifties-styled Revival retro radio through to cutting edge wireless speakers with multi room capabilities, and whether it is for radio or music enjoyment, the Roberts range of products has something to suit everyone.

With multiple industry endorsements and two Royal Warrants granted in recognition of supply of radio equipment to the Royal Households, Roberts radios are built to stand the test of time and are truly loved by listeners the world over.
