If you liked the look of the N8800 rackmount NAS server launched by Thecus last November, you're going to love this:

It's called the N8800SAS, and although identical in appearance with its 2U shell, it's what's inside that makes it different. According to Thecus, this is the world's first rackmount NAS to provide support for SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) hard disks. Up to eight of them, to be exact, and they can be configured in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 and JBOD, with support for multiple RAID volumes, too.

Keeping up the high-performance trend, Thecus has dropped the N8800's Intel Celeron processor in favour of an Intel Core 2 Duo - and that's now joined by 2GB of DDR2 memory.

There's support for multiple file systems, and compatibility with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. No word on pricing yet, but the complete specification can be found at Thecus.com.

First off, I need to stop being first… maybe I'm a quick reader or something.

Second… *drolls*

I remember there was another thing from IBM that I wanted that had 80TB of storage. :)
SAS (Serial Attacked SCSI)

Sorry, but
rofles

Well I guess it did in a way
wow… I want. Never going to happen
Pricing wise I would expect this to be closer to the Qnap TS-809U-RP which also has a C2D and 2GB, it is kacking the SAS capability though. So about £1,700 ex VAT or there abouts.
