What no press release?

Apple has made its latest generation of Xserve servers available on both its US and UK sites.

As you would expect, the new servers feature Intel's recently launched, Nehalem based, Xeon server CPUs.

The single processor version starts at £2,339 in the UK and $2,999 in the states, while the dual processor model starts at £2,879 over here and $3,599 over there.

UPDATE - 14:15, 7 April 2009:

It looks like we were just too quick for Apple on this one; the press release has now been published.

16 threads of the latest CPU technology, default configured with a single slow 160GB drive and only 3GB of RAM… yay for balanced systems (not).

You'd think they might manage more than 3GB of RAM, when you're paying up to $3,500 per unit, right?
It's Apple! Why sell things at a decent price when your main customers are willing to pay whatever your pricetag says?

LOL, here we go again. :surprised:
Not an apple fan myself, but their cases always look the part.
Probably the nicest looking rack mountable server case I've ever seen.
Looks more like a silverstone htpc case.
