Overcoming inertia
As these slides demonstrate (not to mention the ones we left out), the language of virtualisation remains pretty arcane. While it seems like a smart choice for AMD to associate its products with virtualisation, the complexity of the message makes it difficult for AMD to demonstrate leadership in a clear, unambiguous way.
Yet this is exactly what AMD needs to do if it is to overcome the inertia working in Intel's favour, which stands to increase further around the launch of the Xeon 5500 series.
