Sharewatch

Red and green moving on up, MS and big G moving on down.

HEXUS.sharewatch is a few hours later than usual today, for that we apologise, but moving swiftly on, we've taken feedback from you, our faithful readers. We now list the change in share price compared to the last .sharewatch as a percentage, which makes a hell of a lot more sense than just recording it in dollars and cents, ho ho.

So, here's what's been going on...

Company Listing Share Price ($US) 7-day change
AMD AMD 33.71 +2.8%
Apple AAPL 71.60 +5.1%
ATI Technologies ATYT 17.52 +7.9%
Dell DELL 25.65 -2.2%
Google GOOG 395.97 -7.0%
IBM IBM 82.51 -1.0%
Intel INTC 19.42 -0.4%
Microsoft MSFT 23.47 -13.4%
NVIDIA NVDA 30.92 +7.7%

Apple's been adding new notebooks to its product line-up, fighting off RIAA and the French, along with trying to win over PC users with yet more exaggerated, inflammatory adverts. Still, when you've kept your iTunes prices at a fixed rate once more, launched new notebooks and brainwashed a few PC users, it can only mean good things for share price, and indeed it is so.

In the red corner, earlier today we broke the news of a massive deal between ATI and Nokia. Sure enough, we were right, and it's no surprise that today has been a good day for ATI's share price.

In the green corner, Quad SLI rollout seems to be putting NVIDIA in reasonable favour, along with the launch of some new Quadro GPUs.

Not such a good week for Google, with Alexa dumping them for search results, opting instead to use Microsoft. However, Microsoft's shares have taken a hit, and we have a funny feeling it may in part be Vista related. Putting the anal in analysis, Gartner has said Vista will ship late(er). Microsoft don't agree, but it wouldn't be hugely surprising. However, it was MS's quarterly results that caused the biggest plunge.
